I’ve been in travel for 16 years and been a cruise specialist for a quarter of that time. I wanted to start focusing on cruise because there’s something special about feeling like you’re on a floating luxury hotel. When you combine that with the range of activities on offer and the fact that you wake up to a different destination, it makes every day so different and an exhilarating way to holiday.
My favourite cruise ship:
I’ve been on a few different ships now but my favourite was on the inaugural sailing of the Majestic Princess. It was just amazing, the atmosphere was electric for the sail away party, people were on the pool deck dancing and having fun, even the staff were joining in with everyone.
My favourite cruise destination:
In terms of a destination that’s tailored for cruising, I’d have to recommend New Zealand, it’s absolutely stunning. The contrast between the North and South Island is so different but the views you get anywhere in the country will blow you away. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
