One of Turkey’s best known historical attractions, the ancient city of Ephesus is known for its grand scale and well-preserved remains. Visitors to this UNESCO World Heritage Site can get a taste of what life was like in days gone by wandering through its colonnaded streets and into the huge amphitheatre, the largest of the ancient world.
The bluest of blue waters enveloping lush, pine tree covered mountains and a mesmerising stretch of sandy beach are views easily enjoyed at ground level, but for a truly memorable vista visitors can take to the skies. One of Turkey’s top locations for tandem paragliding, the nearby mountains are the perfect launch spot to appreciate the breathtaking aerial views along the coast.
Turkey’s weather varies by region, but summer brings hot, sunny weather across the whole country. The Mediterranean and Aegean coasts bask in summer temperatures in excess of 30˚C and spring and autumn temperatures hovering closer to the twenties. Winters drop down significantly, averaging around 10˚C.
