Macao has a subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of approximately 23C. October to December is a pleasant season to visit with warm autumn days and low humidity. January, February and March are the winter months with relatively cold but sunny weather, warming up in April. From May to September the weather becomes hot and humid with typhoons a possibility. Getting there Macao has its own international airport with flights from destinations around Asia. Most UK travellers fly into Hong Kong and take the frequent fast ferry connections to Macao (approximately one hour) from the airport or downtown, or travel from Hong Kong to Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which offers road transfers in around 45-minutes. There are direct flights from the UK to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic with a flying time of approximately 12 hours
