Climate

Newfoundland’s temperate marine climate means there are no extreme temperatures throughout the year. Winters are usually mild with an average temperature of 0°C, which also means higher levels of rain and snow. Early summer (May onwards) is the perfect time to visit St. John, with average temperatures of 16°C. Icebergs can still be seen as late as June from the city and whales can be seen from May to September. Temperatures can reach 25°C during July and August, making it the most popular time to visit Newfoundland.
