Transfers

It is approximately a 90-minute flight from Johannesburg to Maun Airport, where a 25-minute light aircraft flight takes guests to the Xigera airstrip. From there it is a 10-minute private car transfer to the lodge.

Climate

Botswana's dry season, from May to October, is considered the best time to visit with minimal rainfall and warm, sunny days. During this time, water levels in the Okavango Delta are at their highest making it easy to explore the network of waterways. November to April is the green season with wet, rainy weather. The landscape becomes lush and green and this is a good time for birdwatchers to visit, as a variety of migratory birds arrive into the region. However, the rain can make travelling around the country challenging and it may be harder to spot wildlife as animals disperse across wider areas due to the abundant food and water sources.
